In Issue 1, we met Marnie.  She saved up all summer long, working at an ice cream shop in her southern town so that she could move to the big city with her cousin.  Marnie’s cousin Gretchen is a DJ for gothic night clubs.  On her first night in the city, Gretchen dressed Marnie up to fit in at the club.  While Gretchen was spinning, Marnie met Crystal Pamo.  Crys took Marnie to  David, a magician of sorts.  David began the process of extracting Marnie’s innocence to use as raw material for a powerful drug called Eden.  Interrupted during the extraction process by Gretchen, David and Crys dropped Marnie in the middle of Central Park.  Gretchen recovered Marnie from the park and took her home, a little worse for wear, but seemingly unhurt.

We also met Sky.  Sky is the owner of several night clubs in the city.  He is also the a powerful sorcerer who created the process of changing stolen innocence into the drug Eden.  His original process was an accidental discovery, at the expense of his girlfriend at the time.  Sales of the resulting drug have made him rich enough to live in comfort, and afford the purchase of several clubs where he can distribute Eden.  

In this issue, he tries a batch made from Marnie’s partial extraction.  He becomes obsessed with getting more from her.  Sky confronts Crys about making her deliveries on time, and finding Marnie.  Crys begins to search the city in an attempt to find her, while David bungles another extraction.  

Marnie and Jasmine work through their hangovers, and go to the next club where Jasmine works the turn-tables.  Once again, Jasmine dresses Marnie up as goth as she’ll allow.  At the club, Marnie takes the spotlight and gets lost in the music and her dance.  As she sways to the music, memories begin to fill the empty spaces from the night before.  Being in the spotlight catches Sky’s attention, and he requests her presence at his table.
